WILD official invites you to join us for our 2nd annual fundraising event on September 23rd at the Manitou Club. We have a big afternoon and evening planned for you with lots to see and do.
Our event will be held in the bar and dining hall of the famous Manitou Club. Located at the end of the Glen Valley at 284, chemin Glen. The Manitou Club and McOuat family have been strong supports of WILD and have been a key partner in our Glen Valley Bird Habitat Restauration Project.
We are very proud of the progress made on our restauration project and are very pleased to offer a guided tour of the valley with Martin Picard from the DOA in the afternoon. Martin will be talking about the work already completed and the installation to be completed this fall. He'll talk about some of the success we've already had and hopefully help you spot some of the diverse species of birds to be found in the valley. Be sure to ask him about all the amazing things the DOA is doing throughout Argenteuil!
Anyone interested in partaking in the tour is asked to arrive at the Manitou for the 4pm start time. The tour will remain of the Glen road, so simple walking shoes will suffice.
After the guided tour, we'll be hosting a 5 à 7 open to the general public at the Manitou Club. It will give you a chance to mingle with your fellow nature lovers and get an update on where we are at with the projects we've been working on for the past year, achievable thanks in part to your generous contributions from last year's event. We will also be drawing the winner of our Wine Basket Raffle (more on that later!).
At 7pm, join us in the dining hall for diner. With a spectacular view of the Glen valley in all its majestic fall colors, it's sure to be an event you won't want to miss. Our delicious meal will be prepared by local caterer Angela Kowalyk. Being a more intimate venue, our seating will be limited to 80 people. Tickets will be $125 each, but hurry because they are likely to sell out fast! Thanks to its big success last year, we will once again have a live auction with some really great items to bid on including art and hockey tickets. We'll also have a second draw for another Wine Basket (again, more on that later).
We are extremely please to announce that our entertainment for the evening will by renowned Montreal comedian Sylvain Larocque! For those that don't recognise the name, Sylvain has been taking the stage with his comedy shows for over 30 years. He's a regular at Just For Laughs and has won 7 Olivier awards for best humorist and best show, as well as a Gemini award. Sylvain is a completely bilingual comic and will do an hour + show in both languages to entertain all our guests. We are very please and lucky to have him!

Finally, a little about our Wine Basket Raffle. We will be raffling off two wine baskets with an approximate value of $1,000 each. It will contain 20 bottles of wine, half being in the $75-$100 range and the other half in the $25-30 range. There will also be a 2nd and 3rd prize of one $75-$100 bottle. Tickets for the first basket will be for sale up until the night of the event and the winner will be drawn at the 5 à 7. Tickets will be limited to 300 and are priced at $20 each.
The second basket will be drawn during dinner the night of the event. There will be 150 tickets available exclusively to the people attending the dinner.
Tickets for both the dinner and the wine raffle are available through any of our board of directors or at the reception of the town hall. A big thank you in advance to anyone who purchases tickets and we look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!
